Welcome Thomas

Unfortunately our wonderful Eddie has left Owai.

But, we now have Thomas.  

He came into Room 15 and we asked him questions.

Guided Reading with a difference!

After, Paeton, Mona and Elye read,

"The Picnic," they got to have their own picnic.

Here they are with the table all set; complete with cups, saucers, spoons, tea pots, 

doesn't it look like fun!  I am sure they are good cooks!

After, Bentley, Carlos and J'Varn finished reading,

"Lily's Play House."

They made their own Play House out of cushions, chairs, couch, blocks and material.  

I think they will make excellent builders.

Strawberry Patch

Elye and I had a look at the Strawberry Patch this week and to our surprise 

we found one all ready to eat.

So, during Discovery Learning we had a tidy up of the Strawberry Patch.

First, we had to give the garden a bit of a weed.

After, we watered the strawberries with worm wee.

Then, we put down pea straw.

Finally, we put netting on top.

We hope they keep the birds out!

Strawberry Patch Update:

Elye, Rita and Mackenzie got to share a strawberry this week.

We hope there's plenty more to come.

Physical Education - PE

We are lucky enough to have the 

GET, SET, GO team with us during Term 4.

Room 15 is timetabled for GET, SET, GO on

Wednesday afternoons.

Here is our first time with Room 12; having a go with the equipment.

As well as GET, SET, GO

we have PMP on Friday mornings.

Owairaka Taonga's - Taonga 14

Our school has lots Taongas, (treasures).

This term Room 15 is going on a Taonga (treasure) hunt to find them.

Zac and his mum Kristen spotted our first insect.

Check out our bug house, it is up by the butterfly garden. 

Holiday Reading Logs

Room 15 was busy, busy, busy during the holidays with

lots of reading going on.

Here we are with Fairy Judy holding our certificates.

And what seemed like forever, we waited to find out how well we had done.
