Powhiri

Owairaka Welcomes Special Visitors

Yesterday the whole school went to the hall for a Powhiri.  Alisha and Paris were walking the special guests inside the hall.  Mr Bennet was talking to all of us.  We sang Tamariki Owairaka.  The lady was talking to us.  They were doing the hongi and they went for a cup of tea.
By Charity.

Yesterday Room 15 went to the hall.  I was in the Kapa Haka group.  It was the Kapa Haka group that sang a maori song.  Alisha and Paris sang a welcome for the special visitors because we wanted them to feel welcome and not to be sad, really sad and to feel good at this school.

On Monday Room 15 went to the hall.  We sang a song about Tamamriki Owairaka.  We listened to them.  There were 3 girls and there was 1 boy.  They sang a song.  They did the hongi.
