Holiday Reading Logs and Fairy Judy

Three cheers for Fairy Judy.
Fairy Judy is back on Fairy Duty.

These super readers did heaps of reading in the holidays.

Well done - Room 1.

Science In A Van

Science In A Van, wasn't actually in a van, but in the school hall.
It was way to big for a van, how would we all fit?

First the whole school went to Science in a Van.

Then the Rimu Team learnt about bubbles.

And more bubbles, large bubbles, and BIG bubbles!

Then we learnt about adding two things together - when we shake them, its called
mixing.

ANZAC DAY

Room 1 has been learning about ANZAC Day.

We have been reading the big book, "The Dawn Parade".
In the book it talks about going to the war memorial.
We went in search of our school ANZAC Day Memorial.
We found in the carpark, near the hall.

After that we talked about what things help us remember ANZAC Day.
We made a poppy to wear and took it home and the other poppy we made into a wreath.

Picasso Portraits

Here are our Picasso Portraits.

First, we looked at some of Picasso's paintings,
then we sketched our portraits in Picasso's style,
next they were enlarged and we coloured them in with pastels,
after that our teacher cut them out and we chose the background
and finally they were mounted on black paper.
