Discovery Learning - Toast

On Friday mornings Room 1 has Discovery Learning Time with our Buddy classes; Rooms 4 and 5 .
In Room 1, we have toast.

While we are putting margarine on our toast, with jam or marmite or sometimes both!
We are learning to remember to wash our hands before we have make the toast and
then put our paper towel into the yellow bin.

After that, we are learning how to use a knife, how to wait and take turns, how to share, how to ask for the margarine, jam or marmite.

Once we have done that, we move to the "eating table" and there we talk about all sorts of things;
what we like on our toast, what we are going to do next with out buddy, what we are going to do in the weekend, and sometimes we just sit and eat and listen to others talk.

I Can Write

Anumitha, Aalia and Kato are so onto their reading, they read,
"I Can Write."

Here they are writing on different surfaces.

"I can write on the concrete," said Kato.

"I can write on the concrete," said Aalia.

"I can write on the whiteboard," said Kato.

"I can write on the whiteboard," said Anumitha.

"I can write on the whiteboard," said Aalia.

Here Comes the Shapes

Jill Eggleton has been reading,
"Here Comes the Shapes."

This is what they have made out of their shapes.

Kato and Tabitha

Kato and Tabitha did the alphabet puzzle together and
in no time they had completed it.
Well done you two.

It was tricky, but they didn't give up and they worked as a team.
Didn't they do well!

I Can Read

The first book the Jenny Hessell Group read was," I Can Read."
On each page the child reads to a different person.

Here are the Jenny Hessell Group doing just that.

"I can read to my friend Aalia," said Anumitha.

"I can read to my sister," said Kato.

"I can read to my friend Anumitha," said Aalia.
