Rimu Athletics Day

At long last, found the Athletics Day photos.

First, we had an Athletics Rotation which focused on the skills of,
balance, jumping, skipping, throwing, running, catching, and spatial awareness.

Here are some of the activities we did.

After the Athletics rotation,
Group D received "Caught Being Good Certificates" for being the most organised, persistent, confident, resilient, and sportsmanship team.

Well  done, Ana and Kai,

Next, we had the semi finals and finals of the 50 metre sprint races.

Finally, here are the results for the 5 year boys and girls.

Jane's Car

Jane's Car

This week the Lynley Dodd reading group read the book, "Jane's Car."
After they finished reading, they followed the instructions below and made their own cars.

Didn't Persaies and Raksha do well!

Diwali

As part of our study of celebrations, we read the following book:

After that we made Rangoli Patterns.
We have them hanging in at our front door to our classroom to welcome visitors.

Festivals & Celebrations

This term we have been learning about celebrations.

Then we did a picture search with these books. ..

After that we did a Venn Diagram about birthdays and Diwali,

Green Day

This term GREEN DAY was all about
VEGETABLES.

Our job this term was to water the gardens over by the bees.

This took us along time, but Room 15 are good workers.

Here we are after GREEN Day Assembly.

Sam's Picnic

The Joy Cowley reading group has been reading "Sam's Picnic".

Here is Ana, Yasser and Rory having their own picnic in room 15.
They asked Tai to join them.

SPRING

At last it is Spring.

We had a Brainstorm about Spring.  This is what we thought.

Here we are under our  "Spring Tree".  It has just about lost all its pink blossoms and
it has started to grow new green leaves.
We made lots of blossoms.

We have put the finishing touches to our Four Seasons Tree.

We have been very GREEN.  We have been practising Reduce, Recycle and Reuse.  We made out Autumn Trees into Spring trees with blossoms.  Thanks for the idea Room 12.

Here are a few Spring trees.
