Millie & Arnie's Magnetic Story

Millie and Arnie have been busy this week.
They have been reading,

"The Porridge that was too Hot".

Millie read the story while Arnie used the magnetic pictures to
illustrate the story to Room 1, 2 & 3, 6 and 15.

Well done, to you both.

Sally's Visit

We had a great visit on Friday from
Lilly's mum Sally.

Lilly's family are from the Cook Island.
Sally taught us how to count in Cook Island.

Did you know it is very similar to Maori?

After that Room 1 played a counting game.
Sally said a number in Cook Island and we replied in English
and then we had to get into a group of that number.
It was tricky!

The activity we did was about the Cook Island Flag.

Sally had done some baking and made a traditional Cook Island coconut loaf,
blue icing, the Union Jack and stars.

Room 1 got into groups of 2 and we made a Cook Island flag.
It was a bit like doing a jigsaw puzzle.

And it was yummy to eat!
