Hiwi the Kiwi

Well, what a fun morning that was.

The Minstrel and Mrs Minstrel
gave us lots of information about
what to do when we go fishing.

We always need to take:
a fishing ruler,
salted ice,
wet towel,

and most important when going on a boat,
a life jacket.

Always throw the little fish back. (so they can grow bigger)
And throw the big fish back. (so they can have babies)

If you want to learn more about what to do
when you go fishing go to:

"A Special Garden"

The Jill Eggleton
reading group read,
"A Special Garden".

One of the plants in the book was Lavender,
we think it was planted because it smells nice.

Here Omar, Tyson, Rafin and Artash
are planting a Lavender bush with Lau.

CHAMPION HOLIDAY READERS

ROOM 1
You are amazing!

Well done!

Keep on
reading

and reading.

New two legged friends at Owai!

We always like having new friends at Owai.

These ones are especially,
SPECIAL!

These are our new chickens, Dexy and Violet.

I think they are a bit shy!

We had to call on Room 8 experts to help us answer our questions.
Here are Zoe, Alodia and Isaiah

Here are our questions.

"What are the new chicken's names?" asked McKenzye.

"Which chickens are the new ones?" asked Sibley.

"How old are the new chickens?" asked McKenzye.

"What are the old chicken's names?"

ANZAC continued

Room 1 has been super busy
and we didn't get a chance to go and look at our very own
Owairaka ANZAC memorial.

Do you know where it is?

Do you think you know where our
Owairaka School ANZAC Memorial is?
