Wearing our Pale Fuiono

Pale Fuiono - Head Band

This is worn by both men and women during traditional dancing celebrations.

This was a bit tricky because we used a hot glue gun and we got sticky fingers and
there were so many different colours to choose from,
but we got there in the end.

The making of a Pale Fuiono.

Faafetai Lava to Kendahl and Lau for their help.

Siapo -Tapa

Siapo is the Samoan word
for a fine cloth made from the bark of the Paper Mulberry tree.

Room 1 made a flower and a turtle.

Here are the steps you take to make Siapo with brown paper.

Step 1.
First, you make a pattern using a black vivid, colouring some parts black of your pattern.

Step 2.
You "scrunch" it into a little ball.

Step 3.
You open up your "scrunched" Siapo.

Step 4.
Paint it with brown dye.

Step 5.
When dry, carefully paint the areas you want white with bleach.

Wait until it dries!

An Autumn Walk

We thought it was best to do an Autumn walk before we get to winter and all those gorgeous Autumn colours disappear.

"My Family"

This book looked at the different people in your family.

Luseana-Rose, Harper and Braxston
made their families with wooden people.

"Sam's Picnic"

Sam and Mum and Bingo went for a picnic,
but it started raining,
so they had to go back home.
They had a home picnic.

Here is Anabelle, LJ and Bryan's
picnic on a desk.

They all look yummy!
