And here we are with our "Loud Shirts" all ready for the
end of term disco.

Thank you to everyone who supported
Loud Shirt Day.

Wednesday Walking on Thursday?

That doesn't sound right!

We have such committed "walkers"
and it was our end of term walk, but it was raining ...

... so of course, we went Wednesday walking on Thursday instead.

Up to the top of the overbridge overlooking the Waterview tunnel entrance.

These great walkers have completed 10 walks in 2019.

Keep up the walking!

Chinese Language Week

We don't have any Chinese speaking families in Room 1.

So we decided to look at some
Chinese children's stories
and then make our own Room 1 story from the pictures.

Here are the books we read.  They were all about animals, some
of these animals, we don't have in New Zealand.

Thank you Auckland Library.

We also looked at some of the traditions that Chinese people
have.  After that, we made fans with flowers or dragons on and made tails
for our piwakawaka.

Happy Times

Working together collaboratively.

Good to see Room 1.

Measuring

This week we have been measuring "things"
with cubes, ice blocks sticks, and rods.

We call these non-standard units.

Duffy Assembly with Room 18

We had a really busy week with Room 18
and the Duffy Role Model assembly.

I wonder what the "y" stands for?

Room 1 with
SGT Debbie Aitken our Duffy Role Model.

Thank you for coming.
