Amelie, Rose and Autumn took on the role of the reader
and the rest of the groups were the family and the car salesperson.

They all did a very good job.👍

Creating patterns influenced by Kandinsky's circles

Last week Room 1 explored pattern making using milk bottle caps.

The children worked collaboratively to create a flower design and then tried their own designs independently.

There was lots of discussion about colour variations and the size they wished to create. Some great negotiating and team work was displayed.

Over the next few weeks we will be creating an art installation using the bottle caps for the Owairaka Art Exhibition.

We are still on the hunt for more milk bottle caps! If your household drinks milk
(that isn't dark blue )
please could you collect the lids for us!

Gymnastics - Beam Balance

On Mondays the Rimu Team have Gymnastics.

Here we are on the Beam.

Notice that we are:

Looking straight ahead,
arms out straight
and
walking heel to toe.

This all takes a lot of concentration.

Well done Room 1!

We had a little walk during our transition week.
We visited where we would empty our yellow bin.
Then we did some writing about what we did.

Room 1 went outside to empty the yellow bin.  Pippin's holding the bin.  I saw the black and green bin.  by Adrian
