Parents we need your HELP

Each year we endeavour to run a programme called
PMP
(Perceptual Motor Programme)

This is for our Year 0 - 1 children.
This programme helps children with their fine and gross motor skills.

But, we can't do this without parent help.
We need a minimum of 3 parents each day to help with this.

It involves a morning a week at the very least.
The programme is easy to follow.
Unfortunately, it is not suitable for pre schoolers to attend.

If you are interested in helping, please contact Rachael at the office.

Here are some pics of PMP happening last year.

Please say YES,

Morning Routines

Once the 1st bell rings in the morning,
our classes are open for students and parents.

This year at Owairaka we are focusing on the following
three values:

The first two values -
Manaakitanga,
Manawanuitanga,
Fit in nicely with our morning routines.

Remember, when you sign in start next to the "dot" .

I can now go out to play,
until I hear the 2nd bell at 8:55am.

Shoes and hats off ...

... I can sit on the mat focused ready to listen and learn.

Welcome to 2018

Kia ora,
Namaste,

Faka'alofa lahi atu
Hi  ...

Welcome to the students and parents in Room 1.

What a great long holiday we have had.
Just a few reminders to get us ready for our first day in 2018.

Book Bags

I already have your book bag from last year, so unless you want to buy a new one, we can continue to use this.

HOLIDAY READING LOGS
I know you will have been reading during the holidays, bring in your Holiday Reading Log or if you have lost it, have your parents write what you have read on a piece of paper.

DRINK BOTTLE
It will be really important this term to bring a drink bottle.  Our drink bottles, sit just outside our classroom on the shelf.  Remember to put your name on it.

HATS, HATS, HATS
Bring your hat to school, make sure it has your name in it.  We put our hats on the top hook and our bag underneath on the bottom hook.

It's a great idea to leave a hat at school because...
NO HAT  ...
 ...  PLAY IN THE SHADE

SHOES
At Owairaka we take our shoes off before we come into the classroom for learning.
We keep our shoes on the shelf outside the classroom, side by side, neatly together.

And finally,
Swimming is going to start
Week 2
(more to come about this later)

See you on Wednesday 7th February, 2018

2017 Room 1

In 2017 Room 1 came from Rooms 2, 3, and 14.
We have had a great year of learning and
now they are ready to move on.

Good luck for 2017 as you continue on  your learning journey.
