Measuring with non-standard units

In Year 1, 

we don't measure with rulers yet,

it's a bit tricky - so we measure objects with

materials that are the same.

We always start of the beginning of the object 

and make sure there are no gaps.

Here's a few zoo animals being measured with rods and bears.

We have measured how long and how high these animals are.

Technological Problem:

There is lots of construction at the Zoo

and we need to plan and design 

new enclosures for the animals?

*What enrichment activities (toys) they might need?
